#ASYS2018: Kenya Most Represented in the 7th All Africa Students and Youth Summit in Rwanda

Kenya is the most represented country in the 7th edition of the All Africa Students and Youth Summit that is currently ongoing in Kigali, Rwanda.

The annual summit that kicked off on 24th July has 107 Kenyan students and youths with Ghana coming in a distant second with 40 delegates followed by Nigeria and Uganda with 30 and 20 delegates respectively.

The event that has brought together 2,500 delegates from 49 countries across the continent.

The six-day summit is taking place at Kigali Conference and Exhibition Village (KCEV) from Tuesday to Saturday 28th July 2018 and aims at enabling the African youth to interact with top government officials and successful youths andĀ deliberateĀ on crucial issues affecting the education sector on the continent.

The Kenyan delegation to the Kigali summit was led by the former University of Nairobi Students’ Association’s Vice President Angel Mbuthia.

Other notable names representing Kenya in the summit include former Mt. Kenya Students’ Association Vice Chair Shirleen Wambui, former Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology Students’ Association Chairperson Winnie Nyandiga, Women Students Welfare Association(WOSWA) leader Wendy Obel and Chuka University’s Mercy Musenya Muithi

Among the speakers at the summit is Kenyan lawyer PLO Lumbumba.
