An indefinite closure is looming at Maseno University as the strike by Media Students over missing marks enters day two.
The university had scheduled their exams to start on Monday 12th February but following the ongoing strike by the students, the administration has been forced to push the exams by 2 weeks to allow for the solving of the missing marks issue.
According to a memo signed by the Acting DVC Academic and Students Affairs Prof. Godfrey W. Netondo and seen by The Campus Lady Magazine, the university has postponed the end of semester examinations due to what he termed as ‘unavoidable circumstances.’
“Due to unavoidable circumstances, the University has resolved to postpone the end of semester examinations indefinitely,” read the memo in part.
The DVC noted that the University senate is set to meet, discuss and set new dates for examinations that will be communicated to students thereafter.
Students from the media department and those doing UCI with IT course went on strike starting earlier in the week complaining over cases of missing marks that they noted has been rampant at the university.
