A somber mood engulfed university of Kabianga following the death of one of the students.
According to the University’s Dean of Students, Ms Florida Karimi was a Public Administration student in the School of Arts and Social Science at the university before her demise.
In a notice published on the University’s Media Center, the Dean expressed his condolences and those of the institution to the family.
The notice was published by the University of Kabianga Students’ Organisation (UOKSO) Editor-in-Chief Dennis Mutwiri.
“We’re saddened as University of Kabianga fraternity, especially the students body and close friends who shared memories with her. Her quietus is a big loss for all of us,” the notice stated in part.
While expressing their condolence, the institution indicated that the death of Ms Karimi was a big loss to the whole university and asked the family, friends and relatives to stay strong.
In a bid to stand with the family during their time of difficulty, UOKSO is collecting contributions from the students who would like to contribute towards the funeral.
Ms Karimi’s remains are expected to be laid to rest on Monday 27th August 2018 in Tharaka Nithi County.
Students from the University of Kabianga willing to stand with the family and support the burial preparations are asked to send their contribution to the UOKSO Vice Chair Ms Centaine Muyuka through her phone number.
