Over 3600 graduands from different faculties and departments at the University of Nairobi are expected to graduate from the University of Nairobi this Friday during the institution’s 57th Graduation Ceremony.
According to the institution, the theme for this year’s graduation ceremony is “providing world class education for sustainable development.”
While congratulating the graduands, the university’s Vice Chancellor Professor Peter Mbithi commended their resilience as the journey of academic achievement is always not easy.
“You are our ambassadors, represent UoN well in the market place,” Prof. Mbithi said in several posts on Twitter ahead of the graduation ceremony.
While expressing the University’s pride in the graduands who will be given the power to read and do what pertains to their knowledge, Prof. Mbithi urged the graduands to use their knowledge to solve problems facing the nation.
This Firday’s graduation comes just under a year since the university cancelled Deputy President William Ruto’s planned graduation with a PhD in Zoology from the university over what pundits postulated was plagiarism.
The University of Nairobi is the leading Institution of higher learning in Kenya, enjoying favourable ranking in Africa and globally on Webomatrics.
