In a campaign dubbed ‘Its Z Love’, the institution has outlined activities for students and faculty to participate in and pay for, with the aim of channeling funds raised to the Ruiru Rehabilitation centre. The centre is home to over 50 kids whose families are unable to take care of them and provides them will accommodation, meals, health services and education.
Commenting on the three day community project, Head of Corporate Affairs Moses Maina highlighted the importance of drawing the Zetech fraternity towards a spirit of community service and servant leadership, to effectively teach them how to complement their studies with community engagement,
“This is an opportunity for our students and staff to share love by serving the community and impacting lives through giving. This campaign is designed to train learners to be responsible and respond to needs in the community.” said Moses.
He further outlined that the institution is focused on building the community through education, health, environment conservation and youth empowerment through collaboration with stakeholders and like-minded parties to inspire lives within Kiambu and other parts of the country.
The campaign will task students and staff to donate food stuff, toiletries, stationery, story books, clothes and toys to gift the home and better their live. Additionally, it will involve exciting activities on campus spearheaded by the student clubs including Roll of Honour, Rotaract and Public Speaking, to provide services to students at a small fee and use the proceeds to purchase donations for the adopted centre, located behind the Thika Road Campus.
